Loretta Rose Gates, 72, of Norwalk, passed from this life to the next on May 3, 2020, at home.  She was born on April 3, 1948 in Clintonwood, VA to the late Earet and Irene (Stone) Rose.  Loretta grew up in Virginia and graduated from Ervinton High School.

She enjoyed cooking, country music, and traveling, especially to Amish country.  Loretta loved spending time with her family, and cherished moments with her great grandson.  She retired from Goodwill Industries, where she had worked for over 20 years and  was a member of the Chapel, Norwalk.

Loretta is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Robert Gates; children, Brett O'Quinn of Redondo Beach, CA, Kevin O'Quinn of Lima, OH, Timothy "Gator" Gates of Bellevue, OH and Tammy Kisner of Bellevue, OH; grandchildren, MacKenzie and Madison Kisner; great grandchild, Hudson Willbond; sister, Diana (David) Combs of Abingdon, VA and nephew, Shannon Willis of Castlewood, VA.

In addition to her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Rose.

A drive through opportunity to show support for the family will be held at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St. on May 6, 2020 beginning at 11 am.  Visitors are encouraged to enter using the east entrance, remain in their vehicles, briefly greet the family, and exit using the west exit.   A private family graveside service will follow around 1 pm at Hester Cemetery.  Those invited to the graveside service are reminded to wear a mask and practice all social distancing and mass gathering guidelines.  A larger memorial service is being planned for a later date after COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.  Online support for the family may also be expressed by visiting www.walkereastmanheydingerfh.com Memorial contributions, if desired may be made to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, OH 44870.
