Loretta A. (Ward) Messersmith, 89, of Wellington, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2026. She was born February 5, 1937, in Lagrange, Ohio, a daughter to Clarence and Dollie Ward.

She held many jobs and worked in the meat department at Brumfield Sparkle Market, was owner of Naylor Water Hauling, was a Wellington bus driver and UPS driver, and a Forest City factory worker.

Loretta loved cooking, gardening, putting together puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her 2 daughters, Jessie Logan and Roberta Bottomlee; 3 sons, Byard (Maggie) Grim, Dave (Sandy) Naylor, and Scott (Barbara) Naylor; 16 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren and 4 sisters, Betty, Dollie, Eleanor and Patty. She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Messersmith; 4 brothers, Bud, Clancy, Chuck and John; 3 sisters, Frances, Margorie, and Helen; 2 daughters, Debbie and Linda and 2 grandchildren, Jeremy and Chip.
