Louis Henry Penfield Jr., age 86, of Sandusky and formerly of Norwalk, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his family. Born October 9, 1939, in Norwalk to the late Louis Henry and Madeline (Anderson) Penfield Sr., he graduated from Norwalk High School in 1957.
Louis worked as a delivery driver for Nickle’s Bread for thirty years and then the former Janesville Products. After retirement he enjoyed working part time at Goodwill.
Louis was always up to something. He enjoyed collecting antique bottles and conducting searches for buried objects with his metal detector. He was a fan of NASCAR races and had an incredible sense of humor; Louis was often laughing and telling jokes with family and friends. Most important to him was his family, he was a wonderful father to his four daughters, and an adored grandfather to their children. Louis also enjoyed attending The Chapel in Sandusky, Ohio.
Left to cherish Louis’s memory are his daughters, Tisa Baker, Brittany Penfield, Courtney Penfield, and Kelsey Penfield; twelve grandchildren, Kaylynn, Tashiya, Nori, Sky’ana, Brielle, Brayleigh, Oaklynn, Nayvie, Landyn, Coltyn, Rylee, and Psalm; and a brother, Tom Penfield. Louis is also survived by his canine companion and best friend, Juice. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of life is being planned for a later date, but there is no planned date or time as of yet.
