Louis H. "Corky" Penfield Jr.

Louis Henry "Corky" Penfield Jr., age 86, of Sandusky and formerly of Norwalk, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his family. Born October 9, 1939, in Norwalk to the late Louis Henry and Madeline (Anderson) Penfield Sr., he graduated from Norwalk High School in 1957.

Louis worked as a delivery driver for Nickle’s Bread for thirty years and then the former Janesville Products. After retirement he enjoyed working part time at Goodwill.

Louis was always up to something. He enjoyed collecting antique bottles and conducting searches for buried objects with his metal detector. He was a fan of NASCAR races and had an incredible sense of humor; Louis was often laughing and telling jokes with family and friends. Most important to him was his family, he was a wonderful father to his four daughters, and an adored grandfather to their children. Louis also enjoyed attending The Chapel in Sandusky, Ohio.

Left to cherish Louis’s memory are his daughters, Tisa (Mark) Baker, Brittany Penfield, Courtney (Romel Pool) Penfield, Haley Evans, and Kelsey Penfield; fourteen grandchildren, Kaylynn, Tashiya, Nori, Sky’ana, Brielle, Brayleigh, Oaklynn, Nayvie, Landyn, Coltyn, Rylee, Psalm, Kobee, Braylon, and Grace; one great grandchild, Zy’Aire; and brother, Tom (Sandy) Penfield of Chicago. Louis is also survived by his canine companion and best friend, Juice. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of life is being planned for Saturday, April 11 from 1:00 - 5:00 PM at the Norwalk Reservoir Club House.
