Louis E. Stegman, 88, of New London, Ohio died on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at the Laurels of New London. He was born in Parma, Ohio on December 7, 1932, the son of the late William and Erna (nee Fischer) Stegman.

After serving as a Corporal in the US Army, Louis retired following a 30 year career from Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems.  He owned and operated his own farm.  He served on the Clarksfield Zoning Committee.  In addition to farming, Louis liked traveling and spending time with his family.

Louis is survived by his two sons and daughter: Mark and Bryan Stegman, both of New London and Marlene Strande of Wellington; a grandson, Michael (Deanna) Marley of New London; sister, Charlotte Gemmel of Wellington and God son, Eric Valentin.

In addition to his parents, Louis was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie L. Stegman; sibling, William Stegman, June Stegman and Joan Steffanus.

His visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the Brighton United Methodist Church, 51011 St Rt 18, Brighton, OH.  The Funeral Service will begin at 2 p.m. with Rev. James Ellis officiating.  Burial will follow at the Camden Township Cemetery.   Guests attending are asked to bring and wear a face mask and practice all social distancing guidelines.  Memorials may be given to Brighton United Methodist Church.  Eastman Funeral Home, New London, assisted the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be shared at www.eastmanfuneralhome.com.
