Lucille J. Knapp, 91, of Sullivan died Sunday, December 19, 2010 at the Elms Retirement
Village in Wellington. Lucille was born July 1, 1919 in Willard, Ohio, the daughter of
the late, Ollie & Marie (Hahn) Richards.
She lived in New London for a number of years before moving to Sullivan in 1952. Lucille
was a 1937 graduate of New London High School and attended Elyria High School for
Practical Nursing. In 1962 she received her R N degree from Lorain Community College and
worked at the Wellington Hospital 1962-1991. Lucille was a compassionate mother and nurse
who will be remembered for her caring touch and loving smile.
Lucille is survived by her children, Stephanie (William) Martin of Wellington, Nancy
(George) Keep of Bellville, and Kathryn (James) Coder of Brighton; daughter-in-law, Carol
Knapp of Homerville; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in
death by her husband, Lynn ?Pete? Knapp, and sons, Eugene in 1973 and Douglas Alan in
2001.
Friends may call Tuesday December 21, 2010 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral
Home 370 South Main St. Wellington, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday,
December 22 at 11 a.m. Rev. Dale Huelsman will officiate and burial will follow in Grove
Street Cemetery, New London.
