Luella R. Lee, age 94, of Greenwich, died Friday, Mach 19, 2010 at
home where she resided with her son, Ron and his family. She was born on August 19, 1915 in Mansfield daughter of the late Frank and Gertrude (Hipp) Gremling. Luella graduated in 1934 from St. Peter's High School in Mansfield. She resided in the rural Greenwich area since 1940. Luella had been a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in New London since moving to the Greenwich area where she was also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Her biggest passion was gardening and she loved being with her family and especially her visits from her sister, Lavina.
Luella leaves behind her beloved children, Carol (Ron) Mead of Beavercreek, OH,
Raymond (Barbara) Lee of Charlotte, NC, Janet (Jim) Jones of Goldsboro, MD and
Ronald (Bonita) Lee of Greenwich, OH; nine grandchildren and nine great
Grandchildren; her four sisters, Lavina Wendland, Norma Schunatz,
Clara Robison all of Mansfield and Gerry Turner of MA; brother, Paul Gremling of
Mansfield; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Linley C. Lee in 1990; sisters, Bernadette Gremling and Dolores Gerger; brothers, Robert, Kenneth and Charles Gremling.
Friends and family will be received from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 18 Park Avenue, New London with Rev. Doug Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, New London. Memorial contributions can be made in Luella's name to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church Altar and Rosary Society. Eastman Funeral Home, New London were in charge of arrangements.
