IN LOVING MEMORY OF
M. Eileen
Davies
January 20, 1922 – February 5, 2025
M. Eileen Davies passed away peacefully on February 5, 2025. She lived to be an amazing 103 years old.
Eileen was born on January 20, 1922, in Swansea South Wales, Great Britain. She was a veteran of the Women's Auxiliary Air Force (WAAF). She moved to America after WWII and as a proud Welsh woman, loved to share stories of her life overseas. She was affectionately known as "Nene" by most that knew her and family was the center of her world. She enjoyed line dancing, westerns, and listening to her audio books. Always young at heart, she could be found chasing the kids around and having fun with her family. To know Nene was to love her, and she will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and William A. Davies; her sister, Sarah A. "Sally" Skillicorn; brother-in-law, Robert W. Skillicorn; nephews, Sammy Skillicorn and Robert A. Skillicorn; and a great niece, Megan Skillicorn.
She is survived by her niece, Gladys (the late Skip) Holeton; her nephew, Lloy (Jenny) Skillicorn; her late nephew's wife, Carol Skillicorn; great nieces, Tracy (Rodney) Allen, Tami (Brian) Harp, Brianna McNeely, Brittany Skillicorn, Brooke (Tom) Scherer, Jennifer (Justin) Wolfe, and Courtney (Spenser) Hartline; 12 great-great nieces and nephews; three great-great-great nieces; and several close friends.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London, OH; with her Graveside service immediately following at the Fitchville Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at www.eastmanfuneralhome.com.
