Norwalk, Ohio - Margaret A. (Smith) Barr, 85, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Friday evening, March 17, 2017 in her home. She was born February 7, 1932 in Toledo, Ohio, to the late Alexander and Mary (Horvath) Smith, and came to this area in 1969 from Toledo, Ohio. Margaret was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed crochet, bingo, gardening, macramé', spending time with her grandchildren, and was a supporter of Toys For Tots. Margaret is survived by her husband of 49 years, Marvin M. Barr of Norwalk, Ohio, by her daughter, Susan J. Huston of Cincinnati, Ohio, by her step daughter, Marsha G. Marsh of Oberlin, Ohio, and by her step son, Gary R. Barr of Long Beach, California. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. Margaret was preceded in death by her brothers, Alexander Smith, and one in infancy, and by her sisters, Marie Snyder, Helen Golen, Ethel Lambert, Irene Vetter, and Joan Spalding. Friends may call on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. in Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. David Detwiler, Chaplain of Stein Hospice Service, will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
