Obituary

Margaret Ann (Ott) Sarr, 87, of Cookeville, Tennessee, formerly of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 26, 2020. She was born on the Ott family farm on August 21, 1933 to the late Lewis and Gertrude (Souslin) Ott.  She married Richard R. Sarr on February 20, 1954, and together they raised 5 children.  Margaret lived most of her life in Norwalk, and the family lived in Cookeville, Tennessee from 1968 to 1981. She was a homemaker and a devout Catholic, dedicated to her faith.

Margaret was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Norwalk, OH and she enjoyed cooking, sewing, spending time with her family, and playing cards. She was an avid Cleveland Indians fan and watched every game she could.

Margaret is survived by her children, Michael (Deborah) Sarr of Cookeville, TN, Carolyn (Richard) Howell Jr., of Cookeville, TN, Connie Bogard of North Port, FL, Kenneth Sarr and James Sarr, both of Cookeville, TN, by 11 grandchildren, Michael Sarr Jr., Stephen Sarr, Richard Howell III, Joshua, Travis, and Calvin Bogard, Ryan Sarr, Molly Green, Sterling, Timothy and Meghan Sarr.  She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, Ashley, Jillian, Ryan, Natalie, Cason, Hailey, Aubrie, Alia, Troy, Brantley, and Isla, by her siblings, Norman Ott, Robert (Karen) Ott, and Elizabeth (Robert) Hipp, all of Norwalk, OH.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Richard R. Sarr in 2008, by her siblings, Ralph and Raymond Ott, and Marcella Carsten.

Friends may call on Monday, August 31, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main Street, Norwalk, OH 44857. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Paul's Catholic Church, 91 E. Main Street, Norwalk, OH 44857. Msgr. Kenneth Morman will officiate. Interment will follow in St, Paul's Catholic Cemetery.
