Obituary

Margaret Elizabeth Teehan, 86, of Wellington, died Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on September 4, 1929, in Elyria to the late Howard and Josephine (nee Edmunds) Broome. Margaret grew up in Oberlin and moved to Wellington in the early 50's. Margaret worked as a telephone operator for several years in both Oberlin and Wellington and later worked at Forest City in Wellington and PFI. She has been a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Wellington for several years. Margaret enjoyed spending time in her garden, growing both flowers and vegetables, the later she would then can for friends and family. Bingo was a favorite pastime of Margaret's. She loved to travel and made trips to Las Vegas, Guatemala, Belize and the Gulf of Mexico. An adventurous spirit, on her 76th birthday Margaret decided to celebrate by going skydiving. Family was important to Margaret and she will be remembered for the parties that she hosted, and especially for the homemade pizza that she provided for the gatherings. Margaret is survived by her children Rebecca (David) Jones of Wellington, Jane Coen and Violet (Jeff) Sheldon, both of Las Vegas, Yvonne (Joel) Laird and Timothy (Denise) Teehan both of LaGrange; 18 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brothers Thomas and Lawrence Broome. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Matthew Teehan, sons Patrick and Micheal "Mickey" Teehan, a great-grandchild Grace Nicole Vaughn, and siblings Yvonne Welter, Richard, Wesley, William, and James Broome. Friends and family will be received on Saturday January 30, from 11 until the time of a 1 p.m. service at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 140 South Main Street, Wellington, 44090, with Rev. Brian Burke officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington. Donations in Margaret's memory may be directed to the Church for their roof fund.
