Margie A. Burns, age 63, of Lorain, died Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at New Life Hospice Center, Lorain after a short illness. She was born June 13, 1945 in New London, Ohio, daughter of the late Willie D. and Corrine (Mitchell) Burns. She grew up in Elyria where she was a 1963 graduate of Elyria High School. Margie lived in Mansfield from 1987 until moving to Lorain in 2006. She had attended Woodford Avenue Church of God in Christ in Elyria. She is survived by her children, James A. Burns and Margie S. Burns both of Elyria, Barbara Burns and Uvon Burns both of Columbus, Shatika Burns of Mansfield; 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Rev. Duffie M. Todd of Elyria and Ruth (Eddie) Howell of Mansfield; 2 brothers, William M. Breland of Lorain and Eddie C. Terry of Mansfield; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by, her brothers, Willie Williams, Jimmy, Charlie Joe, LeRoy, Willie Gene, Eugene Burns, her sisters, Barbara Jenkins, Corine Love, Lily Mae Burns. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at the Unity Baptist Church, 326 Fuller Rd., Elyria, Ohio 44035 with Rev. Cash officiating. Burial will follow at Grove Street Cemetery, New London. A luncheon will follow after the burial at the church. Memorials if desired may be given to the family in care of Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W.
