Marguerite P. (nee Wargo) Lang, 82, died Sunday, January 17, 2010. She was born August 6, 1927 to Suzanna (nee Kolopus) and Julius Wargo and lived her young life on a truck garden farm in Grafton. She married Frank J. Lang on July 11, 1947, and moved to Rochester. They were married for 58 years and had four children, Carolyn Morrow of New London, Frances Cristell of Berlin Heights, Anita McDaniel of Fitchville and Marlene Brenning of Elyria. They were blessed with 6 grandchildren, Tony (Lori) Tofani, Andrea and Benjamin Cristell, Brian E. Morrow, Joshua and Kody Brenning and one great grandchild, Brian G. Morrow.
Marguerite enjoyed her life on the farm, taking care of animals, gardening, and canning vegetables. She was a compassionate person who deeply cared for her family and friends. She was a 4-H advisor for 40 years. Marguerite attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, participating in the church choir and volunteering in many capacities including the Altar and Rosary Society. Survivors include her brother, Julius (Virginia) Wargo of Fitchville, two sister-in-laws, Janet Wargo and Cathy Wargo. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings, Joe Wargo, Sue (Dutch) McDonald, Bobby and Jimmy Wargo, Joan (Sam) Malicki, Tom Wargo and Mary Lou (Sam) Brister.
In remembrance of Marguerite, who had a love for hats, they are being offered to family and friends. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 20 with a 3:30 Rosary at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 18 Park Ave, New London with Rev. Doug Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
