Marguerite (nee Richardson) Rogers, 92, of Oberlin, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2010 peacefully at her home under the care of New Life Hospice. Born on August 6, 1917, Marguerite was the daughter of the late Charles Watts and Nannie Catherine (nee Jarrett) Richardson.
Originally from Charleston, WV, Marguerite worked many years in WV for a telephone company. After moving to Ohio, Marguerite, and her husband, Gordon, owned and operated the Oberlin Hardware Store.
She is survived by her nephews, Rick, Dick and Woody Cooke, all of Charleston and the many nieces and nephews of the Thornton, Carpenter, Rosen and Kline families, whom she loved dearly. Marguerite was the last of 10 children and was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Gordon.
Margie's family would like to thank her lifelong friends, Wilma, Marg, Walt, Gloria and Arlene, who provided her with friendship and love. Special thanks to her niece, Kelly Urban and her extraordinary caregiver, Bernie Lambert.
Marguerite will be buried at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington at a later date.
