Maria Babiak, age 87, of Nova, died Thursday, October 18, 2007 at Akron City Hospital, after an accidental fall. Mrs. Babiak was born April 25, 1920 in Giengen An Der Brenz, Germany, daughter of the late, Johann Friedrich & Anna (Graff) Sohnle. She had lived in Nova, Ohio since 1959. She and her husband owned and operated Wally's Grocery Store in Nova from 1959 to 1968. They then built the Continental Country Store in Nova in 1969, where she was still working. Maria is survived by her husband of 63 years, Walter; 2 daughters, Angela Robertson of Nova and Gisela (Paul) Mattingly of Chippewa Lake; and a grandson, Robert Robertson of Nova. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London, where memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m.
