Loving mother and good friend Marian Smith, 95, of Medina passed away peacefully and went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 24, 2015. Marian was born on March 22, 1920 in New London, the daughter of the late Archie "A.B."and Hazel B. (nee Erswell) Cook. Marian was a graduate of New London High School in 1938 and spent most of her life in New London before moving to Medina to be with family. Marian worked hard as a seamstress for 28 years for the former CE Ward and later retired as a materials data center technician from Fisher Titus in 1985. She was a member of the New London Alliance Church and looked forward to a glorious reunion in heaven with family and friends. Marian is survived by her children Rev. Archie (Lucille) Smith of Marathon NY, Janet Smith and, Marni (Donnie) Lewis both of Medina, Carl (Barb Kennedy) Smith of Hayward CA, Chris (Rachel) Smith of Perrysburg; granddaughters Kendra (Jim) Swiecicki, their children Kolton and McKenna, and Vickie (Glen) Colson and their children Melinda, Marissa, and Joshua; grandson Patrick Lewis (Nichole Ward) and their children Alexandria, Jocelyn, and Wyatt; sisters-in-law Velda Cook and Evora Cook; brother-in-law Ralph Smith; and many nieces and nephews. Including her parents, Marian was preceded in death by her husband Donald Dick in 1994, infant grandson Shawn Lewis, infant granddaughter Donnielle Lewis and siblings, Archie Cook, Lawrence Cook, Myrtle Girardot, Elizabeth Zimmerman, Raymond Cook and Lowell Cook. Friends and family will gather on Wednesday, December 30, from 12 p.m. until the time of services beginning at 1 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London with Pastor Doug Lang officiating. Burial will follow in Grove Street Cemetery, New London. Memorial contributions are welcome and may be made to Grace Hospice, 3515 Massillon Rd, Green, 44232 or to donor's favorite charity.
