Obituary

Marilyn Hanlin, 89, of Wellington, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, February 3 under Hospice Services after a long battle with cancer. She was a 1940 graduate of Brighton School where she loved to sing and play basketball. She worked at Perry Fay in Elyria during WWII. Marilyn graduated from Elyria Academy of Cosmetology in the 60's and owned and operated Marilyn's Beauty Shop in Wellington for many years. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing. Also, she was and avid bowler and loved traveling and ballroom dancing. She was a member of the Brighton and Wellington United Methodist Churches and attended Open Door, Penfield Community and Wellington Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Charles) Boise and Vicky (Wilson) Pabon, both of Wellington; grandchildren, Rusty Simmons and Christy Pabon; great granddaughter, Abigail Simmons; stepchildren, Ron and Dave Hanlin, of Oberlin, Sandy Spencer of Wakeman, Nancy Ballas of Virginia, Judy Brennan of PA, Marilyn Kerchinski and Allen Pasadyn, both of Elyria and Ron Pasadyn of TX. She is also survived by her cousin who was like a sister, Gerry Chase. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred and Karl Langendorfer, of Wakeman; sisters, Marilyn Christian and Dorothy Schwartz; brother, Acel McDonald. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Paul Hanlin, Alex Pasadyn and Willis Welch, Jr. A private graveside service is planned at Clarksfield United Methodist Chuch, 5151 Zenobia Rd., Clarksfield. Arrangements were entrusted to Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, Wellington. Marilyn's family would like to thank all those who have been so supportive in her life and for all of the cards and prayers.
