Marilyn Regal, 87, of Wellington, died on Friday, August 8, 2025, under hospice care and surrounded by her family. Born in Norwalk on September 10, 1937 to the late Giles and Marie (nee Chadwick) Anderson, Marilyn grew up in the Brighton area and graduated from Wellington High School. She also attended the Ohio Business College, receiving a certificate in accounting.
Marilyn was an insurance agent for Sponseller Insurance and retired from The Wells Agency Insurance. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Wellington and the Ohio Eastern Star. For years, Marilyn participated in a bowling league.
Cooking and baking were pastimes that she enjoyed. She was known for her ability to clean the most stubborn stains. Marilyn also liked sewing and gardening.
Marilyn is survived by her loving sons, Scott (Sharon) Regal and Chad (Angie) Regal, all of Wellington; adoring grandchildren, Shannon (Al), Nessa, and Taylor and beloved great grandchildren, Axel, Stella, and Kyleigh; sister, Kay (Steve) Woods; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Anderson, Cheryl (Kenny) Gallatin, Marilyn (Dick) Foster and her neighbors of over 55 years, Bob and Sandy Garra. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, James, in 2021.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 14 from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington, where Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. Donations in Marilyn's memory may be directed to the Wellington Firefighters Association, 202 Kelly Street, Wellington, or the Hospice of the Western Reserve.
