Marjorie L. (Miller) More Barr, 100, a lifelong resident of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Stein Hospice in Sandusky, Ohio. She was born on March 12, 1926, in Norwalk, to the late Jacob and Lena (nee Bremser) Miller. Marjorie was a 1944 Norwalk High School graduate, serving as the Class Secretary.

With Marjorie’s 100 years in the Norwalk community, came a unique and vast perspective of the historical background of the community and her family, which she gladly shared with others. She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, and her garden club. She loved spending time with family and was always conscientious of the daily weather reports. She played the organ and had an appreciation for good music. She also enjoyed traveling and had been on several cruises.

Marjorie and her late husband John More were the owners and operators of The Norwalk Monument Company.

She is survived by her children, Daniel (Dolly) More of Franklin, TN, Douglas More of Norwalk, Denise (Alan) Barr of Sandusky, Darryl (Kim) More of Norwalk, and Darla (Tim) Parcher of New London; children and stepchildren, Sandra (Stephan) Schillig of Perrysburg, Thomas Barr of Williamsville, NY; grandchildren, Mark Schillig, Beth Langenderfer, Nicole Vollhoffer, Natalie More, Ryan Barr, Shaun Barr, Justin Barr, Jonathan More, Jordan Frado, Danielle Allen, David Risner, Michael Parcher, and Thomas Parcher; as well as 18 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, John More in 1977, (the two were wed in 1946), and husband, Wallace E. Barr in 2001 (the two were wed in 1978), as well as her siblings, Leland Miller, Marie Shadle Spratt, and Thelma Pancoast.

Visitation for Marjorie will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. (noon). A funeral service will begin at 12 p.m. (noon) followed by interment in Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, where Marjorie was a lifetime member, at 243 Benedict Ave., Norwalk, OH 44857.
