Marjorie Eileen Toth, age 91, formerly of Nova, passed away Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Kingston of Ashland. Her family greatly appreciates the loving care given to her these many, many months by everyone at Kingston. She was born March 13, 1921 in Coudersport, PA., daughter of the late Dan and Florence (Chandler) McConeghy.
She was a graduate of Greenwich High School. Marjorie was a member of the Ashland Church of Christ and enjoyed meeting with friends to make bears for children. She had been a member of the Nova Southern Social Sisters and Nova Winks Club. She enjoyed gardening and had been a member of the Nova Garden Club. Marjorie also enjoyed cooking, baking, making candy and working jigsaw puzzles. She was employed for over 30 years at Forest City in Wellington and continued to enjoy visiting with former co-workers after her retirement. Marjorie enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians and also was a fan of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and their sports teams.
She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Moore of Kissimmee, Florida, daughter -in-law, Elaine Smith of Nova, her sons, Gary (Jane) Smith of Nova and Thomas (Linda) Smith of Cape Coral, Florida; 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; also surviving is her sister, Edith Cady of Mechanicsburg, PA . and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter W. Smith in 1962, her second husband, Gay L. Toth in 1982, her son, Willard "Bill" Smith, infant great-grandson, Thomas Smith, sister Ellen Willett, brothers, Dan, Gordon, Howard, John and Bob McConeghy.
Friends may call from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2013 at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main St., New London where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday with Minister Tim Nowlin of the Ashland Church of Christ officiating.
