It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Martha Jane Alleman on December 11, 2023. Born on April 19, 1939, in the same cherished farmhouse where she spent most of her life, Martha's journey was one of love, dedication, and grace.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, George Alleman of Ruggles, Ohio.  She was a devoted daughter to her late parents, Herman and Ethel Colbert, and a loving friend to her late sister, Mary Kemp.

Martha's legacy continues through her children: Mindy Kramer (Rob Bramley) of Medina, Ohio, and Mike (Cindy) Alleman of Ashland, Ohio. She was a cherished grandmother to five surviving grandchildren: Kristi (Brian) Newsome of Alexandria, Virginia; Sam (Samantha) Kramer of Onsted, Michigan; Andrew (Brittany) Alleman of Nankin, Ohio; Joshua (Rachel) Alleman of Ashland, Ohio; Colton (Taylor) Alleman of Polk, Ohio.  Her love extended to her eight great-grandchildren: Katherine, Thomas, Luke, Michael, Grant, Hudson, Olivia, and Mason; her brother-in-law, Joe Kemp and three nieces survive her.  Martha was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Elizabeth Kramer, Noah Kramer, and Jacob Kramer.

Throughout her life, Martha was a pillar of strength and support in her community. She served as a secretary at Mapleton Local Schools and dedicated over twenty years to Firelands Electric Co-Op, from where she eventually retired. Her retirement years were spent on the family farm, alongside her husband, and enjoying winters at their home on Pine Island, Florida.

Martha's life was a testament to her unwavering spirit of service and the love she had for her family and community. Her kindness, humor, and warmth will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, December 16, 2023, from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St. New London, OH; a funeral service to celebrate Martha's life will begin at 1:00 p.m.  Burial will follow at Ruggles Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest near her parents.
