Martha Paxton, age 89, a life long Greenwich resident, died Friday, September 14, 2012 at The Willows in Willard. She was born in Willard, on July 19, 1923, daughter of the late Clarence and Myrtle (Luzader) Bish. Martha and her late husband, Ralph owned and operated Paxton Machinery of Greenwich for many years. She attended the Ripley Church in Greenwich and was a former member of the Greenwich Grange. Martha was a former 4-H advisor. She enjoyed watching sporting events for her grandchildren, gardening and dancing. Survivors include her three children, Lynn M. (Dean) Hord of Greenwich, Larry (Cathy) Paxton of Ashland and Jim (Becky) Paxton of Glendale, Arizona; 7 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews . Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; son, Thomas Eugene Paxton, 4 sisters and 7 brothers. Friends may call from 6 ' 8 p.m. Monday, September 17th at Eastman Funeral Home, 49 West Main Street, Greenwich and from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday with Pastor Eric Robinson officiating.
