Martha Jane Weiler, 61, of Milan, died Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Briarfield of Milan after a lengthy illness. She grew up in New London and moved to San Jose, CA in 1968. Martha has lived in Norwalk since the late 90's. She graduated in 1967 from New London High School. Martha worked in job placement for the U.S. Government. She was a member of the Lutheran Church. She is survived by her children, Janet Lee, Rhonda Lee, Nichole Weiler and Laura Weiler all of California; mother, Ruth Young Bloom of Norwalk; siblings, Nora Wade of Sullivan, Sally Bolyard of TN, Blanche Clark of Norwalk, Clara Brown of Spencer, Finley 'Junior' Bennett of Norwalk and Thomas J. Bloom of Tucson, AZ; and several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas J. Bloom; brothers, Donald Bloom, Joe Bennett and James Bloom; sisters, Elizabeth Downing and Juanita Cooper. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 2, 2011 from 4-6 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London where funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Doug Lang will officiate and burial will follow at Grove Street Cemetery, New london. Memorials if desired may be given to the family in care of Eastman Funeral Home.
