Martin V. Hale (60), of Greenwich, died unexpectedly on Saturday, March 22, 2025. Martin was born on January 17, 1965, in Willard to the late Delmas and Geneveive (Bolen) Hale. He was a 1984 graduate of South Central and Ehove and was a lifelong resident of Greenwich, excluding the 8 years he lived in Fitchville.
He was a mechanic for 20 years at Dorr Chevrolet in Milan and has worked at Mansfield Correctional Institution since 2002 where he is also in their union, AFSCME. Martin was a fireman with the Greenwich Fire Department from 1995-2010, and also a Scout leader with the Cub Scouts, Webelos and Boy Scouts in Greenwich. He helped to coach T-ball through coach pitch in Greenwich as well. Martin was a member of the Eagles in Norwalk. Spending time with family especially his granddaughter, Lilli, was what he cherished the most.
Martin is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Williams) Hale, whom he married November 14, 1987; 2 sons, Dylan (Samantha Tackett) Hale of Greenwich and Ryan (Jena) Hale of Greenwich; granddaughter, Lillianna Hale; 3 step grandchildren, Xavier, Kyler and Maisyn Adkins; and also his sister, Patricia (Ronald Dean) Morrow of Greenwich. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held from 1-3 pm Thursday, March 27, 2025, with funeral services beginning at 3 pm at the Eastman Funeral Home, 49 W. Main Street, Greenwich. Burial will follow at Greenwich Greenlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Greenwich Fire Department through the funeral home.
