Mary Jean (nee Angel) Straley, 88, of Greenwich, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at the Willows of Willard. She was born on June 18, 1934 in Flint, MI; the daughter of the late Ledford and Flora (nee Childress) Angel, of Oneida, TN.

She will be deeply missed by family and friends, whom she cherished. She was full of laughter and was incredibly giving. She never met a stranger and was inherently kind to all.

Mary Jean is survived by her beloved daughter, Wanda Elaine Childress and granddaughter, Delaney Nelson, both of Mansfield. She was in the steadfast care of her adoring great niece, Tammy (Steve) Steinbauer of Clyde. Jean, as she was most commonly known by her loved ones, is also survived by many great nieces and nephews; Bob (Viki) Deruy, Donna (Jack) Kousma, Mike (Paula) Deruy, Gina (Brian) Mull, Raymond (Stephanie) Kochis, and Brad (Melissa) Kochis; as well as numerous great-great nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Dovie (Emile) Deruy; brother, Alford (Pat) Angel; Nephew, Robert (Dorothy) Deruy; and dearest niece Bertha Jean (Don) Kochis.

Friends and family will be received on Saturday, May 13, from 11 a.m. until the time of services beginning at 12 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 49 West Main St, Greenwich. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Greenwich. Expressions of sympathy may be shared online at www.eastmanfuneralhome.com.
