Mary-Bell Lasky, 68, a lifelong Wellington resident, died Friday, April 24, 2009 at Lorain Community Health Partners following a brief illness. She was born on April 4, 1941 to the late Harold and Dora (nee Anderson) Scyoc. Mary worked as an LPN at the Wellington Community Hospital until 1989, when the facility closed. She attended the New Life Assembly of God Church in Wellington and enjoyed crocheting and walking. She is survived by her children, Scott Scyoc of Wellington, Steven Lasky of Wakeman, Michael Lasky of Wellington, James Lasky of Bailey Lakes and Marilyn Garn of Amherst; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She is also survived by four brothers, Harold, Thomas, and Daniel Scyoc, all of Wellington, William Scyoc of Aurora, CO and three sisters, Alice Knapp and Frances Scyoc of Wellington, and Rose Richardson of Portage, OR. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse James Lasky, and two sisters, Eva Schubert and Laura Knouse. Friends will be received from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday April 27, 2009 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main Street, Wellington, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 28. Burial will follow at Brighton Cemetery.
