IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary R
(Bowman) Krafczinski
March 3, 1931 – February 16, 2025
Mary R. Krafczinski, 93, of Norwalk, OH died on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Gaymont Care Center, Norwalk. Mary was born on March 3, 1931 in Ponca City, OK; the daughter of the late Cecil Bowman and Nellie (Spencer) Shelton.
Mary was a 1949 graduate of Berlin Heights High School. She met her husband Donald in high school and they began their life together in Lorain, OH before purchasing a farm in Fitchville and relocating to the area. Mary kept up with the family farm even after Donald's passing in 2016. In 2020, Mary decided it was time to sell the farm and move to Norwalk to be closer to her daughter Gail. The farm was sold to their dear friends, the Cramer's, who became a part of the family. Mary was a homemaker during the early years, raising their children and supporting her husband. As their children got older, she began working as a manager of Lawson's and a clerk at Edwards Food Warehouse. She enjoyed the interactions with the customers and the friendships they developed.
Mary and Donald were huge supporters and faithful servants to the New London Salvation Army. Mary enjoyed dressing up and performing as a clown, she was known as "Moon Beam". Mary was always on the go, usually on an adventure with her daughter Fran; that adventure usually took them to Meijers. She drove until she was 90 years young and when not on the go, she enjoyed crocheting and reading.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Gail Krafczinski of Norwalk; grandson, Matthew Krafczinski; granddaughter, Rachel (James) Gayhart; nephew, Steven Hine and family, Jim Johnson II, Marcia Zimmerman, Jennifer Reisz, Ashley Reisz, Jaxson Fink, Josh Bays, Kevin and Laura Cramer and the Staff at Gaymont Nursing Center. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Krafczinski, son, Kenny Krafczinski, daughter, Frances Golubic, siblings, Eleanor, Clella, and William, and Pop Shelton, who helped raise Mary.
A private graveside service was held at the Fitchville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family suggest memorial contributions be directed to New London Salvation Army or the Fitchville Community Church. They may be mailed in C/O Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W Main St. New London, OH 44851. Online condolences and fond memories may be shared by visiting www.eastmanfuneralhome.com.
