Mary Lou (nee McConnell) Broud, 86, a resident of Pittsfield went to be with our Lord, on Thursday, March 8, 2018, peacefully following her loving husband of 66 years, Karl F. Broud. A daughter of the late William D. and Delva L. (nee Koons) McConnell, she was born on January 7, 1932.
Mary Lou was part owner of Broud and Son's Water Hauling, a member of the Farm Bureau, a member of the Pythian Sisters. She graduated from Wellington High School in 1949, worked in a Wellington dress shop and as a switch board operator in Oberlin. Mary Lou also worked as a document typist at Wells Insurance in Wellington.
Mary Lou was a devoted stay at home mom, wife, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her family. She leaves behind her sons, Gary L. Broud, Mark W. (Florence) Broud and daughter Karla L. (Mark) LaChance; grandchildren, Chad W. (Melanie) Broud, Clay W. (Agnes) Broud, Jessica L. (Dan) Sleasman, Joseph M. (Amber) LaChance, Jaqlyn A. (Greg) LaChance and Matthew A. Broud; greatgrandchildren, Mary Lou Bailey, Wyatt William, Kara Lee, Aaliza Marie, Gunner Reed, Joseph Liam, Brayden Blaine, Nolan Wade and Mackenzie Rose; sister, Lois R. (nee McConnell) Baumann; brother David D. McConnell; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Karl Frederick Broud, in January; parents, William D. and Delva L. McConnell; and brother, Clarence W. McConnell.
