Mary L. Carsey passed away peacefully at the Norwalk Memorial Home, in Norwalk, Ohio, at the age of 81. She was born on July 2, 1945, in Willard, Ohio, to the late Paul and Blanche (Smith) Vogel. She graduated from South Central High School.
Mary loved taking care of her garden and was a Master Gardener. She enjoyed crafts, especially quilting, sewing, knitting, and cross stitching. She most enjoyed the company of her own family, especially time with grandchildren.
Mary worked for Civista Bank (formerly Citizens), retiring after many years of service as the Branch Manager. She took an active role in her church life, with West Hartland Church and Collins Church, and also with Respite Care.
Mary is survived by her children, Michael (Tracy) Carsey of Arizona and Lisa (Dan) Schaffer of Monroeville, Ohio; sister, Donna (Paul) Lortcher; grandchildren, Kelby (Jason) Bellows, Mikayla (Peyton) Seeger, Hannah (Zach) Courson, Ashley (Christopher) Courson, Camron (Abby) Schaffer, and Cody (Maura) Schaffer; as well as several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and other family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter D. Carsey, in 2019, and sister, Marilyn.
Friends and family are invited to her visitation on Monday, September 14, 2026, at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, Ohio, from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service, which will begin at 1 p.m. on Monday. Burial will follow the service in North Fairfield Cemetery.
