Obituary

Mary Jane "Janie" Freeman, received her angel wings on December 15, 2016 after a lengthy illness which included a liver transplant. She was born May 28th, 1959 in Mt. Pleasant, PA. born to Randall Bryner and Patricia (nee Christman) Savel, she was later adopted by John Savel Sr. She grew up in Sheffield Lake, moving to Wellington in 1990. Janie graduated from Brookside High School in 1977 and later attended the Hamburger University. She worked at McDonalds as a manager, retiring after 35 years. Janie was very community minded; she helped found a chapter of the Blue Star Moms as well as founding the Happy Hearts. She volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House and helped as a candy striper at Metro Health in Cleveland. Janie was always known to call up family members announcing "I have an idea." She enjoyed camping, crafting, scrapbooking, writing poetry and was never caught without a camera. She loved her dogs and treated them like a part of the family. Janie cherished time with her family and especially her grandchildren. Janie is survived by her husband of nearly 40 years Lonnie Wayne Freeman; her children Tricia (Bill) Yeaples, Mandi (Brian) Barrick and Brandon Freeman; her precious grandchildren Kayden, Hunter, Dylan, Alexis, Blake, Kaiah and Owen; her parents Patricia and John Savel Sr; siblings, Diana (John) Bizorik, Stephanie Savel and John (Melissa) Savel Jr.; half brothers Randy, Tracy and Mike Bryner. She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law Pearl Grosch and brother-in-law Ronnie Freeman. Friends and family will be received on Tuesday December 20 from 2-4 and 6-9 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home-370 South Main, Wellington and again on Wednesday from 10 until the time of services beginning at 11am at the United Church of Huntington 26677 State Route 58, Wellington. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington. Donations in Janie's memory may be directed to a memorial fund started at Farmers Savings Bank to help the family with medical costs, FSB, PO Box 438, Wellington.
