Mary K. Gall, 88, of Milan, Ohio passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 17, 2020, at Admiral's Pointe Nursing Home in Huron. She was born on January 11, 1932 in Red Dragon, WV to the late Louis Sr. and Gazella (Soltez) Gall. She graduated from Trap Hill High School in Glenn Daniel and Appalachian Bible Institute in Bradley, WV before heading to nursing school and receiving her degree. She then headed to Costa Rica where she served with Latin American Missions as a missionary for 13 years in a children's home there before adopting her daughter and returning to the states. After returning to Ohio, Mary worked as a nurse for 30 years at Lutheran Medical Center in Cleveland, then served at the Parma Senior Center for many years and finally relocated with her family to the Milan area in 2003, where she served as a care giver with Comfort Keepers until the age of 80.
Mary was better known as "Grammie" to her family, friends and many others. She was a cherished mother, Grammie, great Grammie" , sister and aunt and friend. She enjoyed gospel music, ice cream from Twist and Shout, a good chili dog, puzzles, reading, attending ladies Bible study, teaching Sunday School to little ones, watching the Browns and having weekly "Grammie Slumber Parties" with her "Darlings". She was a member of the Chapel in Norwalk and loved her pastors and church family dearly.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Roselyn (Jerry) Baughman of Milan; The Darlings, Justice (Courtney), Whitney Kay, Titus, Travin and Cadin; great Darlings, Julian, Wesson and Daniel; her beloved siblings, Helen Knapp, Louis A. Jr. (Betty June) Gall, and Elizabeth Rose (Al) Hezel; her nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews and many others who have come to be like family to her.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her little sister Margaret Anne; brothers, Joe and Steven; brother in law, Charles and sister in law, Betty Jo.
A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2020 beginning at 1 P.M. until the time of the 3 P.M. service at The Chapel-Norwalk Campus, 156 S. Norwalk Rd. E., Norwalk, OH 44857. Out of respect for everyone attending, guests will be asked to wear a mask and practice all social distancing and mass gathering guidelines. Memorial contributions may be directed in Mary's honor to The Chapel to help with missions work, 156 S. Norwalk Rd., E., Norwalk, OH 44857.
