Obituary

Norwalk, Ohio - Mary A. Hast, 87, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2019 in the Commons of Providence, Sandusky, Ohio. She was born February 14, 1932 in Castalia, Ohio, to the late Benjamin C. and Alice M. (Strouse) Cattano.

Mary came to Norwalk, Ohio in 2005, after living in Berlin Heights, Ohio, for 53 years. She was a 1950 graduate of Margaretta High School, and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. Mary was also a member of the Berlin Township Fire Debs, the Farm Bureau, was a former member of the Berlin Township Zoning Board for 25 years, and was a former bus driver for Berlin Milan Schools. She was also a farm wife, and co-owner of the Hast Cider Mill.

Mary is survived by her children, Susan K. (Kenneth) Rose of Norwalk, Ohio, Barbara A. (John) Bauer of Sandusky, Ohio, Donna M. Hast of Norwalk, Ohio, and Cheryl L. (Eric) Everman of Norwalk, Ohio,. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer Rose, Kristin Rose (Casey) Freeland, Erin Bauer, Carolyn (Andrew) Graham, Ryan Everman, Sarah Everman, and Jared Everman, and by her great granddaughters, Parker Joy Freeland, Piper Jae Freeland, and Olivia Marie Graham.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Harold (Red) Hast, Jr. July 24, 2004, and by her brothers, John Cattano, and Thomas Cattano.

Friends may call Friday, March 29, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio, followed by Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2019, in St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 East Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Berlin Heights, Ohio.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Berlin Township Fire Department, to the Edison Public Library, to Stein Hospice Service, to St. Paul Catholic Church, or to the Commons of Providence, Sandusky, Ohio.
