Mary "Joan" Hipp

Mary “Joan” Hipp, 87, of Norwalk, Ohio, and most recently residing at Gaymont Care and Rehabilitation, entered into heavenly rest on May 22, 2026. She was born on May 31, 1938, in Bellevue, Ohio, to the late Walter J. and Mary C. (Stockmaster) Bogner.

Joan was a longtime member of Norwalk St. Paul Catholic Church. She worked in the school cafeteria and loved following St. Paul sports, and her children and grandchildren’s activities. She also enjoyed BINGO, was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and was a member of the Norwalk Eagles.

Joan is survived by her children, Patty (Tim) Ziegler of Toledo, Karen (Frank) Wise of Norwalk, Sue Ronez of Norwalk, and Bernie Hipp Jr. of Norwalk; siblings, Harold, Bill and Jerry Bogner; grandchildren, Kevin Wise, Jennifer Greenwell, Nicole Fannin, Ashley Hartwell, and Jessica Sprague; and great grandchildren, Isabelle, Camden, Kylie, Chloe, Lydia, Cora, Simon, and Hallie.

In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Bernard “Bernie” Hipp Sr., grandson, Bryan Ziegler; and her siblings.

Visitation for Joan will be on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, Ohio from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held the following day, Friday, May 29, 2026, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E.
