Mary Jacqueline "Jackie" Henes, 79, of New London, died Friday, April 10, 2015 at the Laurels of New London. Born on September 7, 1935 in Akron, Jackie was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Mary (nee Harris) Adams. Jackie grew up in Huron and graduated from Huron High School in 1953. In 1972 she moved to New London until 2003 when she moved to Florida. Jackie and her husband, Ed, returned to New London in 2010. She owned and operated Jackie Henes Realty until 2002. Jackie was a member of the New London United Methodist Church and the National Association of Realtors. An active member of the New London Rotary, Jackie had served as President for the organization. Jackie was a busy lady who was always involved and active in her community. She liked to play golf and enjoyed shopping. As a child her front yard was the beach, and because of that she swam like a fish. Jackie was a family person who loved being with her family. She also enjoyed traveling, especially her trips to Florida and Las Vegas. Survivors include her loving husband of 59 years, Edwin Henes; daughter, Sandra (Daniel) Welsh, of New London; brother, Trell (Anne) Adams, of FL; 6 grandchildren, Katie Henes, Jill Henes, Darcie (Russ) Parsons, Samantha (Mike) Willis, Emily (Brian) Dalton, Ted (Laura) Welsh; 8 great grandchildren, Leah and Nathan Willis, Alayna and Alivia Welsh, Jamieson, Elliott and Garrett Parsons and Bailey Dalton; and daughter-in-law Michele Henes. Jackie was preceded in death by her sons, Edwin T. Henes and John A. Henes. Friends and family will be received on Monday, April 13 from 6-8 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the New London United Methodist Church, 58 E. Main St., New London.
