Mary Ellene McLaughlin, 95, Republic, Missouri was born December 4, 1922 to Charles and Laura Louise (Meyer) Phillips in Shiloh, Ohio and departed this life on April 1, 2018 at Republic Nursing and Rehab, Republic, Missouri. She was married to Delbert C. McLaughlin on March 10, 1938. Mary was a homemaker and mother all her life. Her favorite bible verse was Matthew 11:28-29 28"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.", which is the one that brought her to the Lord. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughter, Vera E. Light; four brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by daughters, Flora J. Day, Doniphan, Missouri, Dianna R. (Goforth) Cano and husband, Alex, Republic, Missouri, son, Delbert McLaughlin Jr. and wife, Darlene, Pocahontas, Arkansas; 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be held in Edward Grove Cemetery, Greenwich, Ohio on April 6, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. Then on April 12, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. a Memorial Service will be held at Current River Baptist Church, Doniphan, Missouri. A dinner will be served starting at 5:30 p.m. for family and friends before the Memorial Service. Local arrangements are under the direction of Day Funeral Home, Marshfield, Missouri.
