Mary Wight Perkins, 90, of New London, Ohio, passed away on September 24, 2025, at Grandma's Place Home Care. Mary was born in New London on November 29, 1934, to Lloyd and Edna Wight.

A lifelong resident of New London, Mary graduated with the New London High School Class of 1952 and continued to Baldwin Wallace College, earning her degree in 1956. In 1957, she married Lenard Perkins, and together they built both a family and a business. In 1968, they took over Wight Jewelers, the family business in New London, which they owned and operated until their retirement in 1988.

Mary was a devoted mother, loving grandmother, and proud great-grandmother who gave freely of her time, listened with care, and offered gentle encouragement. She loved hosting family, friends & pets, cooking memorable meals, and creating a home where everyone felt welcome. She enjoyed tending to her beautiful flower gardens and treasured both family vacations and travel in retirement.  Her calming presence, kind heart, and warm smile will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her daughters, Alison (Dave) Anderson of Dunwoody, GA; Lisa Rankine of New London, OH; and Julie Perkins of Avon Lake, OH; her grandchildren, Shannon (Mike) Dyer of New London, OH; Chase Rankine of Cleveland, OH; Carter Anderson of Steilacoom, WA; Brock Rankine of New Bedford, MA; and Mary Anderson of Tucson, AZ; her great-grandchildren, Michael (Jessica) Dyer, Maverick & Hartleigh Dyer, and great-great grandchildren, Dahlia & Darren Dyer.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Lenard Perkins, and her parents, Lloyd and Edna Wight.

The family is grateful for the love and support of friends, family and especially the caregivers at Grandma's Place Home Care and Southern Care Hospice.  A memorial to celebrate Mary's life will be held on October 18, 2025, at 2 pm at the Dyer Residence, 5561 St Rt 162 East, New London.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary's honor to New London Community Club at https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/donation-form/7a75337f-259c-4d0b-86e2-beaf1ace704b or by mail to P.O.
