Mary Evelyn Roberts, age 74, of Brighton, died Thursday, October 4, 2007 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center in Norwalk, after a short illness.
Mrs. Roberts was born December 2, 1932 in Louisville,Kentucky, daughter of the late, Phillip & Margaret (Grimm) Hunt. She was a 1951 graduate of Brighton High School. She joined the U.S. Army W.A.C. during the Korean War and had lived in many locations. But, most of her life was spent in the Brighton and Wellington areas.
Mary is survived by 4 daughters, Anne (Gary) Hoppers of Joliet, IL, Doris (Paul) Leadingham of Princeton, IL, Jennifer Howell of FL and Rebecca Roberts of Lorain; 3 sons, Edward (Brenda) Hartwig of Mandan, ND, Carl (Cynthia) Hartwig of Wellington and Ernest (Suzanne) Hartwig of Knox, PA; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a sister, Emily (Richard) Conklin of Brighton; and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Keith Hartwig; 2nd husband, Edwin Roberts and an infant daughter, Eva Marie Hartwig.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 8, 2007 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington, where friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Memorials if desired may be made to the Wellington Salvation Army, 181 E. Herrick Avenue, Wellington, Ohio 44090.
