Mary L. Teglovic

Mary L. Teglovic, 67, of Greenwich, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday night, September 27, 2026, at Reserve Care Stein Hospice in Sandusky, Ohio after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on June 4, 1959, in Tiffin, Ohio, to the late Wayne and Louise (Carp) Kreais. Mary graduated from Hopewell –Loudon High School and later Ohio Northern University. Mary was a lifelong learner, always seeking new approaches or strategies to share with others.

A beautiful, devoted and loving wife, Mary was a woman of deep faith, who often inspired others professionally and personally to believe in themselves, instilling confidence and creating positive learning environments. She dedicated 40 years to improving mathematics education for students and teachers. Her career began as a secondary mathematics teacher at South Central High School and then as a coach for the Mathematics Coaching Program through The Ohio State University. In her years as an instructional coach, Mary worked with teachers of mathematics from early childhood through college. More recently Mary served in a regional consulting/coaching role through the North Central Ohio Educational Service Center with continued service at Colonel Crawford and Seneca East Schools. She had also worked closely with the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, serving as a lead trainer for multiple programs. Her professional footprint extended beyond Ohio to lead roles in other states and in other countries. Over her illustrious career she received several well-earned awards including the 2023 Mathematics Leader Award from the Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics. Her tireless commitment to improving math education for students and teachers will impact lives for years to come.

Mary, alongside Dan, enjoyed working in their garden, to preserve what they grew and to cook together. Mary enjoyed taking day trips to Ohio lakefront destinations and sitting by the pool reading. She loved her dog, Sadie. Mary was a member of The Ripley Church in Greenwich. She took every opportunity to share her faith in the Lord with many of the people she met through her work and through her cancer journey.

Survivors include her loving husband of 18 years, Daniel Teglovic; daughter, Nichole (Mike) Tuttle; granddaughter, Hannah; siblings, Dave Kreais, Tom (Becky) Kreais, Jimmy Kreais, and Anne Schettino; she is also survived by her nieces, Suzie Kreais, and Jill Mass, and many friends, and close colleagues.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husband, David, and brothers, Dale and Kenny Kreais.

A memorial visitation will be held for Mary on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at The Ripley Church, 4130 Edwards Rd., Greenwich, OH 44837, from 10 a.m. until the time of the 12 p.m. (noon) service.
