Mary Rose Widman passed peacefully Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Good Shepherd Home in Fostoria, Ohio at age 93 years young.

Mary Rose was born on March 1, 1927 in Norwalk, Ohio to James Henry and Mary Margaret (Eline) Cooper.  She married her husband, George Widman, June 14, 1952 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Norwalk and together they raised six children.  She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother, Paul Cooper, her sisters, Margaret Schlachter, Anna Bemis, Elizabeth McLaughlin, and her loving son, Mark Widman.

Mary Rose is survived by five children, Joe (Barb) Widman of Norwalk, Mary Margaret (Dean) Watson of Tiffin, Bill (Carrie) Widman of St. Marys, Ruthann Stocker of Norwalk and Chris (Joni) Widman of Tiffin.  She will be remembered lovingly by her 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Mary Rose was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Norwalk.  She worked at Citizens National Bank of Norwalk and retired from the Huron County Health Department.

Mary Rose was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend.  She treasured her time spent with family and friends around her Sunday dinner table.  She especially enjoyed hosting her family and extended family for a Thanksgiving day celebration.  She was an avid reader and card player.  She loved going to the movies and enjoyed attending and supporting her grandchildren's sports and musical activities.  She loved to travel, especially to Disney World.

Due to COVID restrictions a smaller service and burial was held in December of 2020.  A larger public Celebration of Life Mass will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021 beginning at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Francis Mariadas officiating.  Donations in Mary Rose's memory may be sent to the St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery Fund or to the Good Shepherd Home SAIDO/Dementia Program in Fostoria, Ohio.
