Matthew "Matt" Long, 31 , of Wellington, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2016 in his sleep from unknown causes. Born May 31, 1985, Matt was a 2003 graduate of Wellington High School, where he was a dedicated student and athlete. Matt currently worked for the Lake Erie Crushers. He loved working with local little leagues and seeing how happy they would be playing catch on the field at the Lake Erie Crushers. Matt loved telling stories of his high school touchdowns, 3 point shots, and buzzer beaters. While in high school Matt was a member of several clubs. He continued his education and athletic success at Bowling Green State University, where he participated in multiple intramural football and basketball teams. He graduated with a Bachelors Degree in sports management and marketing. Matt is survived by his fiancé Ellen Castro; his father Morris Furcron; sister Celeste Furcron; and an abundance of close friends and family, so many of which we could write forever. He joined his mother Cathy Long, who passed away on January 3, 2013. Friends and family will be received on Friday, July 15, 2016 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main St, Wellington, from 10 a.m. until the time of services beginning at 12p.m. Pastor Michael Goss and Elder James Furcron will officiate.
