Maxine Heitsche, 86, of Collins, died Thursday, March 1, 2012 at The Rehabilitation and Nursing Center at Firelands in New London. She was born April 20, 1925, in Jamestown, New York, daughter of the late Charles and Neva (Nunn) Hasper. She spent several years working for Hartland Schools as a cook and server. Her most important role was that of a loving, wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Maxine attended the Hartland Center Community Church in Collins. Survived by her son, Tim Heitsche of Collins; three grandchildren and brother and sister-in-law, Bernie and Natalie Hasper of Arizona. Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Heitsche, Jr.; son, Frankie Heitsche; daughter, Mary Heitsche and daughter-in-law, Karen Heitsche. Visitation will be held from 2 ' 4 p.m. and 6 ' 9 p.m.Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Rev. Jon Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Hartland Ridge Cemetery in Collins.
