Melvina (Pearl) Hamilton, age 81, of Greenwich, died Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at Sub Acute in Wooster. She was born March 8, 1928 in Floyd Co., Kentucky to the late Emmett and Nancy (Newsome) Hall. Melvina has resided in the Greenwich and New London areas for the past 60 years.
She married her husband, Fremon Hamilton on August 19, 1943. Melvina was co owner and operator with her husband of J & F Bargain Center and Circle H Motel.
Survivors include husband, Fremon of Ashland; 1 daughter, Carolyn (Curt) Newsome of Greenwich; 2 sons, Ernie (Mary) Hamilton of Greenwich and Randy Hamilton of Ashland; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Melvina was preceded in death by her son, Freeman Hamilton, Jr. and brothers, Clifford, Clyde, Aaron and Hargus Hall.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 25th at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London. Graveside service will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Davidson Memorial Garden in Ivel, Kentucky.
