Merrill Eugene Studebaker, 81, of Wellington, passed away Sunday morning. He was born on February 14, 1932 in Verona OH to the late Adolph and Edna (nee Taylor) Studebaker. Merrill and his family moved to the Berea area when he was young and he was a 1950 graduate of Berea High School. After high school he went on to serve in the US Army .
Merrill worked for Larson Steel Foundry in Grafton for many years and then for Cascade Patterns in Elyria. He worked on the family farm as well. Merrill was an active member of Faith Christian Church in Spencer. He enjoyed reading and woodworking but especially cherished time spent with his family.
Merrill is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Gloria (nee Boise) Studebaker, children Linda (Carl) Threatt of FL, Dwight (Mitsi) Studebaker of Roanoke VA, Joe (Gail) Studebaker of Baconton GA, and Joan (John) Wallis of W. Chicago IL, 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and a sister Cynthia Allen of Wellington. Merrill was preceded in death by a sister Vivian Studebaker.
Friends and family will be received on Friday May 24, from 1-3 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main Street, Wellington, with services beginning at 3 p.m., Rev.
