Obituary

Michael Freeman, 58, of Norwalk, flew away to his Lord on December 10, 2019, "Mike" slipped away unexpectedly in his sleep from a heart attack.  He was born on December 22, 1960 in Amherst, Ohio to the late Mildred (Stump) and Bobby Freeman.

Mike was a graduate of Western Reserve High School, Ohio University School of Physical Therapy, and served honorably in the United States Army Reserve.  Mike married the love of his life Dawn Ballard Freeman on September 4, 1988.  He was CEO of Transition Healthcare Services and a long time Physical Therapist with the Firelands Regional Medical Center Home Health Care Division.

Mike was a member of the Norwalk First United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the Sandusky AMVETS.

In addition to his wife Dawn, Mike is survived by his children, Abigail, Simon (Rachel), Samuel and Anah; sisters, Bobby (Curtis) Cousino and Julie (Raymond) Gaultier; brothers-in-law, David (Bonny) Ballard, Jake (Janet) Ballard; Sister-In-Law Debi (Don) Helton; aunts, uncles, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.  He also leaves behind his beloved fur baby Lilly.

Mike was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed fishing, hunting and bird watching.  He was a grilled barbeque aficionado and was known to cook for numerous family gatherings and community events.  He was a die-hard fan of the Cleveland Browns.  Even up to his death, he was ever hopeful that "THIS" was the year that the Browns would win it all.  He also followed the OSU Buckeyes, Cleveland Indians, and the Norwalk Truckers.

Michael was proud to officiate his eldest's son's wedding after becoming an ordained minister this past summer.  In addition to starting up his own business, Michael was always interested in finding new ways to improve the lives of others with many patents pending.
