Michael Patrick O'Neil, 72, of Norwalk, died Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at home surrounded by his family. Born on July 22, 1946 in Glendale WV, he was the son of the late Donald "Buck" and Verna (nee Collingwood) O'Neil. Mike grew up in Norwalk and was a 1964 graduate of Norwalk High School.

Following graduation, Mike attended Ohio Northern University where he obtained a Bachelors in science. He was a professional engineer, working and living throughout the eastern United States building waste water treatment plants. After retirement he moved back to Norwalk.

Mike was a 35 year member of the Norwalk Eagles. He held a private pilot license and enjoyed all things aviation. Mike was an avid hunter and a proud advocate for the Second Amendment. He enjoyed studying history, especially American History and Government. Mike liked to keep his mind sharp and was known to pull out his college mathematic and physics books for a little light reading. Most of all Mike cherished his family and time spent with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Victoria (nee McDonough); sons Christopher (Heather) O'Neil, of Medina, and Joshua (Alison) O'Neil, of Waterville; grandchildren Sadie, Adam, Hayden, Morgan, and Cameron; brother Jack (Patty) O'Neil, of Norwalk; and nephews Zack and Nick O'Neil.

Friends and family will be received on Saturday, May 25, from 12 p.m. until the time of services beginning at 2 p.m. at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk, Ohio 44857, burial will follow at Fitchville Cemetery.
