Michael Stanley Sprinkle, 56, of West Salem, died Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Mansfield General Hospital. He was born on May 8, 1956 in Lodi to Walter Jr. and Alberta (nee Wacker) Sprinkle. Michael was a 1975 graduate of Black River High School.
Michael worked for Premium Building Products. He liked to hunt and to collect guns and was a life member of both the NRA and the North American Hunter Association. He was also an avid racing fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR. Michael enjoyed camping and boating as well. Among Michael's other talents, he was a skilled woodworker and made several beautiful pieces of furniture.
Michael is survived by his sons Herbert and Scott both of West Salem; grandchildren Chey, Shelby, Aliyah, Tessa, and Rylea; siblings, Walter (Euelene) Sprinkle III of Ashland, Susan Twining of Sullivan, Thomas (Jean) Sprinkle of Ashland, and Robin Storrow of Wellington. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, his son Michael Jr. in 1997, niece Jamie Lynn Sprinkle and his brother-in-law Kenneth Twining.
Friends and family will be received on Saturday, April 13 at Grace Brethren Church of Homerville, 8992 Firestone Road, Homerville, from 10 a.m. to the time of services at 1 p.m. with Pastor Tim Simmons officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to the church and will be given to a cancer fund. Burial will take place at a later date at Huntington Cemetery.
