Michael "Mike" Lee Lance, 60, of Wellington, passed away on August 16, 2016 after a hard fought battle with cancer. Born in Oberlin on December 14, 1955, to parents Ernest and Virginia, Mike spent most of his life in Wellington and was a 1974 graduate of Black River High School. Mike owned and operated Lance Interiors, where he sold and installed floor coverings. An avid golfer, Mike was a golf league member and was also a member of the Eagles. Mike enjoyed playing pool, playing cornhole and riding his Harley. He especially took great joy in spending time with his family and his grandchildren. Mike is survived by his mother, Virginia (nee Regal) Sheldon; his best friend and the mother of his children, Debbie Lance; Children, Brian Lance (Bonnie) of Avon Lake, Lisa Lance (Donnie) of Spencer and Angie Lance of Wellington; grandchildren, Gabrielle, Cadin, McKenna, Owen, Mitchell, Madison and Maggie; and his siblings, Ernie Lance, Jr., Bill Sheldon, Shari Steele, Tom Sheldon, Michelle Lance and Marty Lance. He was preceded in death by father, Ernie Lance; stepfather, Ted Sheldon and granddaughters, Rylee and Adelyn. Friends and family will be received for a visitation on Friday, August 19, 2016 from 4-7 pm at the First United Methodist Church of Wellington, 127 Park Place, Wellington, where services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Rev.
