Myrtie Ellen Anderson, age 69, died Friday, December 27, 2013 at her home. She was born March 3, 1944 in New London, daughter of the late Bernard and Tworea (Meade) Ratliff. Myrtie was a lifelong resident of New London and a 1962 graduate of New London High School. She retired from Miller Bros. Super Valu in 2006 after 27 years. Myrtie was a member of the New London Church of Christ. She served several terms on village council. Surviving are her husband of 29 years, Mayor Darwin K. Anderson, whom she married February 14, 1984; daughters Theresa Elliott of Sandusky, Melissa (Kevin) Seidel of Fitchville, her son Douglas (Kim) Elliott of Vermilion; Step-children, Mitchell Anderson of Bailey Lakes, Mark (Sharon) Anderson of Ashland, Melissa (Art) Szabo of Ashland; her brother, Kenneth Ratliff of New London, her sister and best friend Bernadette Fannin and her very special brother-in-law Kenney Fannin of New London; 11 grandchildren, Holly, Tanecia and Kayla , Brandy , Hunter, Gage, Matthew, Chad, Heidi, Tyler, Joshua; 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Diana Ratliff. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 on Monday December 30 at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main St., New London where funeral services will be held at 11 am Tuesday with Linro Meade officiating.
