Myrtle E. Rym Gott, 96, of Wellington, died Monday, September 14, 2015, at the Elms Retirement Village in Wellington. She was born on September 6, 1919, in Norwalk to the late Edward and Elizabeth (nee French) Pippert. Myrtle was a 1937 graduate of Camden High School.
Myrtle worked as a waitress at the Oberlin Inn for many years, and served as a house keeper for many homes throughout Oberlin. She gave her time as a 4H advisor for several years and was an active member of the Wellington Eagles Women's Auxiliary. Mrs. Gott enjoyed going on the Wellington Senior bus trips. She enjoyed spending time in her garden, was an avid reader, and a talented baker.
Myrtle is survived by her daughters Esther (Darius) Miller of Ashland and Marilyn (Roger) Behrendt of Brunswick Hills; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; siblings Irvin (Betty) Pippert of Wakeman, and Marilyn (Arthur) Ziegler of Tiffin. She was preceded in death by her first husband, of 21 years, Joseph Rym, second husband of over 25 years, Maynard Gott, siblings Clayton, Clarence, Mary Sigworth, and Edward, and her son Gene Rym and his wife Cheryl.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, September 17, from 5-8 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main Street, Wellington, 44090, where services will be held on Friday beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Camden Township Cemetery.
