Milan, Ohio - Nancy J. Doerner, 73, of Milan, Ohio, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2016 in her home. She was born December 26, 1942 in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Paul and Agnes (Keating) Rhodes, and came to this area in 1963 from Columbus. Nancy was a member of the Edison Memorial United Methodist Church, Milan, Ohio, where she was a former Sunday School teacher. She was a former secretary at Pleasant Street and Bronson Schools for 25 years. Nancy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, enjoyed sewing, and the companionship of her dog, Laci. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bob Doerner of Milan, Ohio, by her son and daughter in law, Steven and Charman Doerner of Norwalk, Ohio, by her daughter and son in law, Pamela Ann and Thomas Harcarik of Columbus, Ohio, and by 5 grandchildren. Nancy is also survived by her brother, Paul Rhodes of San Antonio, Texas, and by her sisters, Norma Rhodes of Columbus, Ohio, and Debra Downey of Columbus, Ohio. There will be no calling hours. Memorial services will be held on Monday, January 18, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Edison Memorial United Methodist Church, 10 East Church Street, Milan, Ohio. Rev. Dale Thomas will officiate.
