Nancy L. King

Nancy L. King, 80, of Willard, Ohio died on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at the Willows at Willard. A lifelong resident, Nancy was born in Willard on March 27, 1946, the daughter of the late Raymond and Bonnie (Oliver) Greer. She was a 1964 graduate of Willard High School.

Nancy was a woman of fierce devotion, generous spirit, and boundless warmth. She possessed a quick wit and a tremendous sense of humor that could instantly brighten a room and fill a home with laughter. Nancy’s cooking was her signature language of love, ensuring that no one ever left her table hungry or feeling anything less than cherished.

She spent time working as a Willard Police Department Dispatcher, a mail carrier with the USPS but found her true passion when she became the Logistics Coordinator with R.R. Donnelley and Sons. Driven and ambitious, she took immense pride in her hard work and career, instilling that same work ethic and resilience in those around her.

She was fiercely protective and unwaveringly loyal to her family and friends—a steadfast protector you always wanted in your corner. Her gentle, compassionate nature extended to all living things, especially her beloved pets, who held a very special place in her heart. As part of her compassionate nature, Nancy devoted many years volunteering for Reach for Recovery, a breast cancer survivor support group, and at Willard Mercy Hospital.

Nancy is survived by her children, Mark A. Hostetler of Willard, David R. (Kimberly) King of Norwalk, and Eric J. (Shayna) King of Merritt Island, FL; grandchildren, Audrey Thatcher, Angie Hunsinger, Jeremiah Weitzel and Jennifer Akers; nieces and nephews, Kendra Beekman, Karen Fox, Tom Cole and Burl Cole. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Errol G. King; her brother, James Greer, niece, Kathy Greer and nephew, Luke Cole.

Friends and family will be received on Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the Eastman Funeral Home, 49 W Main St., Greenwich, OH; where her Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to Huron County Humane Society, 246 Woodlawn Ave, Norwalk, OH 44857.
